As part of the WISE Research series, recent pillar of the WISE Initiative, the RSA and the Innovation Unit have produced a new report, which sketches out a road map to facilitate system-level change in education.
For the occasion, WISE and RSA hosted a public event chaired by Mr. Stavros Yiannouka, CEO of WISE, which comprised a lecture and a panel discussion, followed by a cocktail.
The authors, Mr. Joe Hallgarten and Ms Valerie Hannon presented their report, and shared ideas around the creative public leadership required to inspire, drive and achieve such change on a systems level.
Members of the panel then shared their thoughts on the theme “Innovation in Education: leading impactful research for concrete outcomes and change”.
Based on the reports and topics recently published for WISE, the panelists looked into the best ways of turning ideas into action and the necessity of delivering relevant research to serve the changing world of education. The discussion touched upon the best practices to communicate findings with policy makers and other key stakeholders, building a community able to bridge knowledge and concrete practices. Fundamental topics and trends for future research on innovation in education have also been explored during the debate.
