Zia Akhter Abbas

Zia Akhter Abbas is the President and CEO of TCF. Joining TCF in 2014, Mr. Abbas led TCF’s global resource mobilization efforts for 10 years, serving a movement of thousands of committed volunteers across 14 countries. During this period, he led the development and implementation of TCF’s global governance framework, oversaw TCF’s Government Partnership Schools network through a transformation in learning outcomes, and facilitated the development of TCF’s Strategy 2030. He also served as a board member of the Global Schools Forum.

Prior to joining TCF, Mr. Abbas spent 17 years in senior business and risk management roles at Citi and Standard Chartered, and served as a director for 1-Link – Pakistan’s leading payments switch. Zia holds an MBA from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).
