Greece

Styliani Adamantia Pipa, nicknamed Elina, was born in Athens, Greece, where she currently resides. She attends the American Community Schools of Athens (ACS), and is in her junior year of high school. Despite being 16 years old, she has contributed to promoting and advocating the ability of the youth’s voice being heard in society. She believes that the only way for young people to make a change is if they are educated in their rights through a holistic education. Elina, being a founding council member of the Incubator of Students’ Creative Ideas at ACS, has organized and led numerous innovation summits in partnership with high schools in Turkey and Greece. Her self-created workshops for the summits explored areas such as creative writing, psychology and leadership presented to elementary, middle and high school students. Since the summer of 2018, Elina has been a volunteer at Athens’ “Paidon” children’s hospital, through the non-profit organisation The Smile of the Child. She is also part of the Team for Children’s Rights under that organisation, leading the launch of campaigns and being interviewed on television on children’s rights, as well as having spoken in a summit against children’s sexual assault. Elina’s vision has been largely shaped by her uncle’s, Dr. Stefanos P. Gialamas, global morphosis paradigm which she aspires to progress in order to continue his legacy as an inspiring leader and educator. Elina’s goal is to study International Relations and Global Governance, and achieve her personal mission to ensure that all children, regardless of race, religion, sex, ethnicty, fulfill their right to an education.
