Sanchirmaa Altankhuyag

Sanchirmaa Altankhuyag is a young and passionate Mongolian teacher. She teaches English as a second language to students and future primary school teacher students of the Mongolian National University of Education (MNUE). 

After graduating from Krasnoyarsk Pedagogical College (Krasnoyarsk, Russia) in 2011 as a teacher of English in primary and secondary schools, she continued pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in the Mongolian and English languages at MNUE, one of the leading teacher-training institutes of Mongolia. She is presently working for her Master’s degree in Education Technology.  

In the summer of 2010, 2011 and 2012, Sanchirmaa worked as a team leader in the International Children’s Center Nairamdal where she gained valuable experience in working with children from different countries. 

Since April 2014, she has been working as the team secretary for a Life Skills project that is implemented by the Ministry of Education (including a team of professors from MNUE) and UNFPA Mongolia. 

In 2013, Sanchirmaa was selected for an academic exchange SUSI Women’s Leadership program, hosted by the University of Kansas and sponsored by a grant from the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. 

Apart from her academic life, she is interested in human rights, gender equality and leadership. She is an active member of the Young Women for Change NGO. She has experience in working as a general coordinator of the Love Yourself project that aimed at raising awareness of young Mongolian women concerning body image and the media.
