“Joseph Haldane is the founder, chairman, and CEO of IAFOR, the International Academic Forum, a politically independent, non-partisan, and non-profit organisation dedicated to encouraging interdisciplinary discussion, facilitating intercultural awareness, and promoting international exchange—principally through educational interaction and academic research—and with operations on three continents.
Since 2015, Dr. Haldane has been a Guest Professor at the University of Osaka (OSIPP); since 2019, a Visiting Professor at Doshisha University (where he teaches ethics and governance on the Global MBA); since 2020, an Honorary Professor at University College London (UCL); and since 2022, a Professor in the United Nations Peace University’s European Center for Peace and Development (EPCD). He is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Expert Network for global governance.
Professor Haldane has been invited to speak at universities and conferences globally, including at UN Headquarters in New York, and has advised universities, NGOs, and governments on issues relating to international education policy, public-private partnerships, and multi-stakeholder forums, and has directed projects for the Japanese Government through the Prime Minister’s Office, Cabinet Office, and Foreign Ministry.
Dr. Haldane has held full-time faculty positions at the Université Paris-Est Créteil, Sciences Po Paris, and Nagoya University of Commerce and Business; and visiting positions at the French Press Institute (Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas) and the Schools of Journalism of Sciences Po Paris and Moscow State University.
He holds a PhD from the University of London (ULIP) in 19th-century French studies and has research interests in world history and politics, international education, and governance and decision-making.”
