Polly Akhurst

Polly is the Co-founder and Co-Executive Director of Sky School, a not for profit organization which uses transformative education to create opportunities and inspire positive change in the life of refugees and their communities. Sky School has developed the first international high school programme specifically designed for displaced youth, and also runs short courses for young people to re-enter education and develop their sense of agency. Polly has also acted as a working group leader and contributor to the OECD’s Education 2030 project. Prior to Sky School, Polly spent five years working for UWC (United World Colleges) in the area of community engagement and outreach.
