Nieves Segovia Bonet
Educator and expert in educational innovation, Nieves Segovia is President of SEK Education Group, founded in 1892. The Group currently serves over 21,000 students across 15 international schools located in Spain, France, Ireland, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia, as well as at Camilo José Cela University.
Nieves Segovia chairs the Steering Committee of the Talloires Network of Engaged Universities (Massachusetts, USA) and is a member of the Leadership Council of the Center for Universal Education at the Brookings Institution (Washington, DC) and the Academic Council of Forward College. She is also an Advanced Leadership Initiative Fellow at Harvard University.
In Spain, she sits on the State School Council of the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, chairs the Felipe Segovia Foundation, and serves as Vice-President of the Club de Excelencia en Gestión. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the CyD Foundation.
She is the founder and sponsor of the Global Education Forum, a community of educational innovators, and of SEK Lab, an EdTech accelerator. In 2017, she launched the UCJC Integra Programme, a university education initiative for refugees. This has since been joined by Sfera, a centre for intercultural social entrepreneurship, and EachTeach, a global initiative supporting the training of refugee teachers.
Among other honours, Nieves Segovia has received the UNICEF Award for Education in Values and is recognised as one of the most influential women in education. She is a regular speaker at international education forums and a frequent contributor to specialised journals and media outlets.
