Ramy Abdelzaher
Bonocle
Co-founder and COO
Ramy Abdulzaher is an entrepreneur, husband, and father. An Egyptian, born and raised in Qatar, he now lives between Qatar and Canada, where he is the co-founder and COO of Bonocle. Bonocle is an edtech company redefining accessibility in education for blind and low-vision students through a two-fold solution. BoQuest, a gamified app for students practicing braille and tech skills, and BoDesk, a teacher-facing dashboard that streamlines lesson planning, progress tracking, and remote assignments with AI automation and insights. Under his leadership, Bonocle has gained global recognition, being named “Best Assistive Tech Solution in the Middle East” amongst other awards and recognition.
Before founding Bonocle, Ramy had over 5 years of experience across the corporate world, with professional roles in sales and project management in the Middle East. His bachelor’s in engineering, combined with a master’s in general management, set him up perfectly for a world of tech entrepreneurship. His research explored how, in a world heavily influenced by social media and hustle culture, everyone in society could play a part in inspiring new entrepreneurial ventures.
Outside of work, Ramy enjoys spending time with his family and friends and staying up to date with the latest in tech. His guiding belief is simple: “Be kind and work hard. Nothing good comes easy, but with kindness, you’ll always have people to share it with.” Ramy is always open to conversations about accessibility, entrepreneurship, and technology.
