Michael Trucano is a Senior Advisor at the AI in Education Observatory, a Non-Resident Fellow at the Brookings Institution, Vice Chair of Digital Promise, and Co-Chair of the Global Reference Group on Technology in Education for the Global Partnership for Education (GPE). He is currently on sabbatical from the World Bank. His work focuses on the effective and ethical use of new technologies in education, particularly artificial intelligence (AI).
For over 25 years, Mike has provided policy advice, research, and technical assistance to governments in more than 70 countries seeking to integrate technology into their education systems. He previously served as the World Bank’s first Global Lead for Technology and Innovation in Education and as co-founder of its EdTech team.
The founder of the influential EduTech blog, he now writes the Beyond Two Sigmas newsletter on Substack.
