Mark Johnson

Mark Johnson is The Economist‘s Education correspondent, based in London. From 2017-2020 he covered Chinese politics and society from The Economist‘s bureau in Beijing; before that he spent three years writing about South-East Asia from its office in Singapore. Mr. Johnson began his career working in digital strategy for HarperCollins, a book publisher, before becoming The Economist‘s first Community editor, helping devise its approach to social media. He also writes about technology and the environment.
