Magdalena Brier

Telefonica Foundation

Managing Director

Magdalena Brier has been the General Director of Fundación ProFuturo since 2019, an educational innovation program that leverages technology and is driven by Fundación Telefónica and Fundación “la Caixa.” The program is present in 30 countries across Latin America, Africa, and Asia.

From this position, she has contributed to consolidating the program by improving implementation efficiency, developing a digital ecosystem with educational tools and resources, and demonstrating its impact on vulnerable populations through evidence-based results. Under her leadership, ProFuturo has become one of the most innovative educational projects in vulnerable contexts and has received significant recognition, such as the WISE Award for Educational Innovation. She also represents ProFuturo in various international forums, including the UNESCO Digital Transformation Collaborative Group, to contribute to the formulation of priority digital competencies.

Previously, she held various roles within the Telefónica Group, where she has worked since 2000. For 10 years, she was in charge of administration and resource management and served as Head of the President’s Office at Fundación Telefónica. During that period, she supported the improvement of programs by promoting efficiency and contextual adaptation, with a continuous progress approach for the Foundation in Spain and its sister foundations in Latin America.
