Juan Manuel
CEO and Co-Founder
TOMiAlejo and Juan grew up in a poor neighborhood in Medellin, Colombia. Inspired by a teacher to become coders and entrepreneurs, they chose not to attend college but instead, created their first company which they sold at 19 years old. Following this, they went on to build three more companies focused on supporting teachers in emerging countries. Creating a team of 300 people, their ventures have gone on to impact more than a 100,000 teachers across Latin America. They have also received awards from MIT, hundred.org, Accenture, Microsoft, XTC, Colombian Senate and others, for their innovative edtech. Today, they want to expand TOMi.Digital into new markets so that they can continue to build a community of teachers that has access to quality resources, even in places that lack secure infrastructure or internet access.
