Ms Joyce Adolwa

Joyce Adolwa serves as the Director of Education programming at CARE USA headquarters in Atlanta. In her capacity, she provides technical and programmatic leadership to CARE’s global education and girls’ empowerment portfolio. Ms Adolwa came to CARE after having worked in the corporate and medical sectors in Kenya and the United States. At CARE, she has served in several capacities as a researcher, evaluator, program designer and implementer of multiple initiatives in the areas of education, youth leadership, health, Early Childhood Development and HIV programming, supporting and leading efforts in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.

Ms Adolwa’s research includes field evaluations of HIV impact on the education sector in Kenya. She has supported research efforts, authored a number of articles and served on expert panels on girls’ education and empowerment. In addition to her work at CARE, Ms Adolwa has served as a guest lecturer with the Colombia University’s Global Classroom on Gender and with the University of Minnesota. She has a Master’s degree in Public Health from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, USA and a B.A. in Sociology and English Literature from Egerton University, Kenya and holds a post graduate diploma on Marketing and Public Relations from the London Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
