Her Excellency Nehmat Aoun

First Lady of Lebanon

Her Excellency Nehmat Aoun has served as First Lady of the Republic of Lebanon since January 9, 2025, following the election of her husband, His Excellency General Joseph Aoun, as the 14th President. She brings to this role a deep commitment to public service, social engagement, and national unity.

Born and raised in Chiyah, Beirut, she pursued her university education in Lebanon and is fluent in Arabic, French, and English. Before assuming her current role, she led the Protocol and Public Relations Department at the Lebanese American University for over two decades, earning distinction for her professionalism and leadership.
As First Lady, she focuses on civic engagement and social cohesion, championing responsible citizenship and shared responsibility for Lebanon’s future. Her vision emphasizes respect, solidarity, and service to the common good as foundations of national strength.

Her Excellency also serves as President of the National Commission for Lebanese Women (NCLW), where she advocates for gender equality and the empowerment of women. In this capacity, she collaborates with policymakers, civil society, and international partners to advance inclusion and equal opportunities across Lebanon.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she values the importance of family and strong social bonds in fostering a resilient, compassionate society. Guided by her belief in the potential of the Lebanese people, Her Excellency Nehmat Aoun strives to build a Lebanon that is united, inclusive, and ready to meet the challenges of the future.
