Gerson Abesamis

Gerson is a teacher and a designer. By merging both perspectives he found his passion: to design creative learning experiences for everyone—from preschoolers to professionals— improving how they learn and work together. He is the co-founder and Executive Director of Habi Education Lab, a design studio that applies human-centered design to learning solutions. Through Habi, he has facilitated design workshops to more than 8,000 educators, and has worked on projects for a wide range of partners such as the Department of Education of the Philippines, Globe Telecom, UNESCO, SEAMEO Innotech, Japan Foundation, Save the Children, Philippine Science High School, USAID, and many more. He has designed professional learning programs for Pearson, Technicolor, and PwC UK, and has served as a consultant for the Commission on Higher Education of the Philippines for materials development and teacher training programs. Currently, he teaches courses on Educational Technology and Design at University of the Philippines and Miriam College.
Gerson holds a BA in Film from the University of the Philippines, and a Masters degree in Technology, Innovation, and Education from Harvard University.
