Florence Robine has a teaching background in physics and holds the high-level French ‘agrégation’ qualification as well as a PhD in epistemology and science history.
In 2004, she was appointed to the rank of inspector-general for the French Ministry of Education. Subsequently, she held the position of Chief Executive (rectrice) to the local education authorities of Guyana, Rouen and Créteil respectively. She has also served as an expert on the European Commission’s working group for Maths, Science and Technology.
In 2014, Florence Robine was appointed as Director-General for Schools. She has been awarded France’s highest decoration and is ‘Chevalière de l’ordre national de la Légion d’Honneur’ as well as ‘Commandeure de l’ordre des Palmes académiques’ (Order of Chivalry for distinguished academics).
