Elisa Guerra is an early childhood educator from Mexico. She holds a Master's Degree from Tecnologico de Monterrey. She is the author of 12 textbooks and teaching materials with Pearson Education. Through her books, she has reached more than 15,000 young children and teachers across Mexico and Latin America.
She founded a school: Colegio Valle de Filadelfia, in Aguascalientes, Mexico. Her model has been replicated and now there are schools in five Mexican cities. Another two schools will open in Costa Rica and Brazil next year.
Elisa has lectured about teaching and early childhood education all over Latin America. She has been invited twice by ‘Save The Children’ and a local foundation for children to train over 1000 teachers in Bolivia in setting up learning environments for young children. In addition she has been working both with brain-injured children and implementing early development programs as the director for Latin America for The Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential for almost 15 years.
She received the Medal of Humanity and Science awarded by the International Child Brain Academy in Philadelphia, PA, in the event of the 60th Anniversary of the Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential.
Elisa was a 2015 Top 50 Finalist for the Global Teacher Prize by Varkey Foundation, and is currently finalist by Inter American Development Bank and Movimiento ALAS, founded by Singer Shakira, for ALAS-IDB Award "Best Early Childhood Educator in Latin America" which will be given on November 10th, 2015 in Washington, DC.
