Dr. S. Duygu Sever Mehmetoglu is a Post-Doc at HBKU, Doha. She holds a PhD in Political Science and International Relations from Koç University, İstanbul. She formerly worked for IFRI, Center for Energy in Paris as a Visiting Researcher and for EU Horizon 2020 Project: FEUTURE as a Project Assistant for Energy and Climate Drivers. Her research agenda addresses sustainable development, energy transition and energy security. Her dissertation titled as “The Domestic and Global Context of Energy Preferences: Explaining the Choice for the Nuclear” is the recipient of Koç University 2021 Academic Excellence Award.
Duygu has been a delegate in major platforms including Next Generation Delegates by Chicago Council on Global Affairs, Likeminds Junior Expert, and Young Academics Program. Her awards include Young Visiting Researcher Fellowship by the Embassy of France, The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey Scholarship, and KUTEM 2020 Best Energy Paper of the Year Award.
