Professor or Philosophy

Jeremy Koons (PhD, Georgetown University) is a Professor of Philosophy at Georgetown University in Qatar. Koons studies the nature of knowledge and moral judgments, with particular interest in the ways knowing and judging are never solitary acts—our reasoning is inherently social and tied to the larger collective, membership in which enables our own rational agency. Koons has written or co-written three books as well as more than two dozen articles and book chapters on metaethics, epistemology, and philosophy of religion. He has taught a wide range of courses, from political philosophy, ethics, and international affairs to philosophy of religion and ethical theory. He has also held teaching positions at the American University of Beirut, the University of Hong Kong, and Stonehill College (Massachusetts).
