Aly Jetha, a 2018 recipient of the WISE Award, is the CEO of Big Bad Boo Studios, an educational entertainment company that creates cartoons and cartoon-based curricula to teach social-emotional learning (SEL) and 21st-century skills. Big Bad Boo’s cartoons—produced by Emmy Award-winning creatives in collaboration with curriculum and child development experts from Sesame Street—have been broadcast in over 100 countries and 40 languages on premier networks including Disney, Jeem, Discovery Kids, and PBS. They have also been streamed over 4 billion times on platforms such as Hulu/Disney+, Amazon, iQIYI, and Oznoz, and have won more than 50 international awards.

The company’s classroom curricula, which combine animated content with structured lesson plans, are used by over 2 million children in 15 countries. Big Bad Boo is also a global partner of UNICEF, delivering its programs to provide psychosocial support for children in post-conflict settings. In addition to its curricula, Big Bad Boo is recognized for its assessment instruments that effectively measure SEL and 21st-century skills.

Aly holds a B.A. in Political Science (First Class Standing) from the University of British Columbia and a J.D. from Berkeley Law School. He is a former management consultant at Bain & Company and is recognized as a global expert in teaching and assessing SEL. He has spoken at the United Nations, the World Bank, the White House, and leading institutions including Harvard and Columbia Universities.
