Dr. Elmagarmid is an accomplished scientist with an active research program in data wrangling. He has authored six books and over 180 papers. He chaired the IEEE ICDE, ACM SIGMOD, and many other conferences.
Dr. Elmagarmid received the ACM SIGMOD Contributions Award. In 2020, he was chosen to serve on the Washington Institute’s Council of Advisors and was selected to be a Distinguished Fellow. He is an IEEE Life Fellow, an ACM Fellow, and an AAAS Fellow. He received the Presidential Young Investigator Award from President Reagan in 1988. He is the co-chair of the National AI Committee.
Dr. Elmagarmid was named a Distinguished Alumnus of The Ohio State University and the University of Dayton.
