Dr. Ahmed Baghdady has been an educator and leader for over three decades, with significant contributions to educational leadership, international development, policy, research, strategic planning, and international higher education. Before moving to Canada, Ahmed served as Research Manager at the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), an initiative of Qatar Foundation, and as an adjunct faculty member at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies.
He previously held program and research leadership roles at the RAND Corporation, Qatar Foundation, the Institute of International Education (IIE), and AMIDEAST, and has taught at higher education institutions including the American University in Cairo.
Ahmed holds a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Leicester in the UK. His research focuses on educational leadership and governance, as well as higher education internationalization. He has published several works on the development, challenges, and impact of international branch campuses, teacher development, learning and wellbeing, and the influence of technology on student wellbeing and learning. He is currently the Executive Director, International, at Northern College of Applied Arts and Technology in Ontario, Canada, where he leads the college’s internationalization and global engagement efforts across multiple regions worldwide.
