Abdelrazek Aly

Founder and CEO, Bonocle

Driven by a belief that “education is only as powerful as it is inclusive,” Abdelrazek Aly continues to push boundaries to ensure no learner is left behind.

Abdelrazek combines an engineer’s precision with a social entrepreneur’s drive to dismantle barriers in learning. As the Co-Founder & CEO of Bonocle, he leads a mission to make education more accessible, easier, and inclusive for blind and low-vision learners.

While still an undergraduate studying computer science, a car accident brought Abdelrazek into close contact with his university’s special-needs center and exposed him to the daily challenges faced by visually impaired students. That moment sparked his lifelong commitment to accessibility and catalyzed the creation of Bonocle.

Under his leadership since 2016, Bonocle has evolved into a globally recognized edtech company reshaping how blind and low-vision students learn. Its two-part ecosystem includes BoQuest, a gamified learning app that builds braille literacy and essential tech skills, and BoDesk, a teacher-facing platform that streamlines lesson planning, progress tracking, and remote assignments through AI-powered automation and insights. Together, they bring structure, engagement, and consistency to braille education worldwide.

Abdelrazek was honored as part of the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for Social Impact, recognizing his innovation and dedication to inclusion. He holds a BSc in Computer Science from Qatar University and remains grounded in the belief that true progress in education is driven by people, equity, and empowerment, not technology alone.

An advocate for inclusive design and systemic change, Abdelrazek regularly speaks on how assistive technologies can re-frame ability rather than disability. His vision is to build learning tools by, with, and for the visually impaired community, ensuring accessibility is never an afterthought but a design foundation.

Abdelrazek lives with his wife and son in Doha. He enjoys exploring emerging edtech trends, mentoring young founders, and continuously redefining what inclusion can look like in a digital world.
