Shadrack Frimpong
Founder, Cocoa360
Ghana
Despite his difficult upbringing in rural Ghana, Shadrack Frimpong secured a full scholarship to University of Pennsylvania, where he was awarded the President’s Prize, Penn’s highest honor. With the prize as seed funding, Frimpong founded Cocoa360 and pioneered the “sweat-for-impact” health equity model; a tuition-free girls’ school and hospital sustained by proceeds from cocoa plantations. Cocoa360 achieves health equity for rural cocoa-growing communities through health literacy, disease prevention and treatment. Frimpong is recipient of various prestigious awards and has been recognized and awarded by President Clinton and Queen Elizabeth.
