Julia Moffett

Julia Moffett is the Founder and CEO of the Future of Learning Fund, a Nairobi-based investment and advisory group that aims to accelerate the future of learning in Africa. The Fund offers capital and strategic support to early-stage businesses that improve access, affordability, quality and relevance of education and learning.

The Fund looks for commercial solutions that can drive exponential change to pre-primary through adult audiences, in and out of school. Areas of interest include: Education to employability, tech products and platforms, educational media, and non-banked education finance.

Julia is a proven leader and strategist in helping public and private organizations achieve important growth, positioning and impact goals. She has worked in the US, the UK and Africa in government, international development organizations and foundations, and in the private sector.She became passionate about the re-invention of education when asked to develop the Burberry Foundation’s global signature program that used design-thinking to build the creative confidence of marginalized young people around the world. More recently, as Director of Innovation for the Equity Group Foundation in Kenya, Julia led a range of efforts aimed at digital learning in secondary school, personalized mobile learning for Bank customers, and student finance tied to employment skills.
