United States of America
Charlotte Evans, an American, holds a bachelor’s degree from New York University (2013) with a double major in broadcast journalism and East Asian studies with a Mandarin language focus. Having lived and worked in Spain, Italy, and France before university, Charlotte continued to explore her passion for understanding other cultures after graduation. She moved to Asia for a two-year fellowship with NYU Shanghai. There she developed the Deans’ Service Scholars Program, a curriculum-based service-learning opportunity that took students on intensive tours in China and around Asia to raise their awareness on a variety of global issues, and bring their experiences to the Shanghai campus. Charlotte joined Yale-NUS College in 2015, and is currently a Program Manager of Leadership and Global Citizenship at the Center for International and Professional Experience. She advises students applying to the accelerated bachelor's-master’s program, as well as students applying to various international undergraduate and postgraduate fellowships. Charlotte’s research interests are in education policy and the way in which both new joint ventures and innovative higher education models are influencing the larger geopolitical landscape in Asia. Through the WISE Learners’ Voice Program, she hopes to engage in conversations about new ways to increase higher education access for refugees and displaced communities across the globe.
