Carine Allaf
Senior Programs Advisor, QFI
Dr. Carine Allaf has 20 years of experience working as a teacher, scholar, and practitioner in the U.S. and in multiple countries across the Arab world. Currently she is the Senior Programs Advisor at QFI, an educational organization committed to advancing Arabic language and culture. Carine advises QFI’s programs and geographic expansion and leads on monitoring, evaluation, and research. Before her work with QFI, Carine was a lecturer at Teachers College, Columbia University in the International Education Development program. Her courses centered on women in the Arab world, education in conflict and emergency settings, and international development. Carine was also an elementary school teacher for 5 years at the American Community School in Beirut, Lebanon and domestically in the Philadelphia and New York City public school systems. As a practitioner, Carine has assisted organizations in designing, implementing, and evaluating education programs in addition to conducting trainings. Carine has worked with Save the Children, UNICEF, and the INEE in Iraq, Jordan, Sudan, Palestine, and Sri Lanka.
