John Wroe is a passionate and motivated individual dedicated to fighting for the rights of Street Children worldwide through his work at Street Child United.
John has over 20 years experience in the non-for-profit sector focusing on sports, arts, advocacy and campaigning, this has enabled him to develop Street Child United into a world class organisation. Street Child United uses the power of sport and the arts to challenge the negative perceptions and treatment of millions of street children across the world. The charity is widely known for its flagship initiative, the Street Child World Cup – an international football tournament uniting teams of street children from across the world to play football and call for their rights to be realised.
As part of The Queen’s 2015 Birthday Honours List, John received the British Empire Medal (BEM) which recognises innovative and high impact work.
John is a passionate Swansea City fan having rarely missed an away match for over 40 years!
