Rina Lopez-Bautista is the founder and driving force behind the Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) that operates the Knowledge Channel, the Philippines’ fi rst and only all-curriculum educational television channel. Over the years, KCFI has expanded its work beyond television, making its educational programs available online through kchonline.ph and offl ine through other media.
Knowledge Channel now reaches over 2,400 public schools in the Philippines, benefi ting 3 million elementary and high school students, as well as out-of-school youth and adult learners enrolled under the Alternative Learning System (ALS).
She is a passionate proponent of Digital Age Learning and one of the leaders paving the way for the global Filipino learner to be empowered with 21st-century skills through technology and social media.
In line with Rina’s commitment to improve the quality of leadership across various sectors, with the support of the Department of Education (DepEd), the De La Salle University and AusAID, she is one of the leading pioneers of the successful launch of the Schools Division Superintendents (SDS) training program in the Philippines.
Beyond Rina’s work within the Foundation, she is also an active member of the Global Philanthropists Circle (GPC), one of the global networks established by Synergos Institute. Rina has been cited and awarded a certifi cate for her exemplary leadership in education innovation by the Clinton Global Initiative. She has received numerous awards and citations.
