Prof. Un Shil Choi

Dr. Un-Shil Choi, the President of National Institute for Lifelong Education (NILE), received her Ph.D. in Educational Sociology and Lifelong Education from Ewha Women’s University in 1986. Dr. Choi is currently a member of the Governing Board of the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning and the General Assembly of Korean National Commission for UNESCO. She has been a Professor and Dean of the Graduate School of Education in Ajou University, has served on the International Jury for the UNESCO Literacy Education Prize and was a member of ASEM Education and Research Hub-Lifelong Learning Network. Dr. Choi served as a President of the Korean Society for the Studies of Lifelong Education and President/Chairman of the Korean Federation of Lifelong Education. 

She has won several awards including the IACE International Hall of Fame (2010) and Order of Civil Merit, and the Camellia Medal, Republic of Korea (2005). Dr. Choi has published articles and books, including Development of Lifelong Education Program(2009) and Lifelong Learning Administration and Policy (2000).
