Stacey Nwokeyi

Learning Innovation Lead, Bridge International Academies

Nigeria

Stacey Nwokeyi is a Nigerian-American with a deep commitment to creating life changing educational opportunities for students from low-income communities. Immediately after graduating from Northwestern University in Chicago, she joined Teach for America. Through TFA, she began teaching at a founding KIPP primary school in the historically underserved west side of Chicago. She spent her first couple of years teaching kindergarten, and went on to teach primary 2, 3, and 4. This experience helped her build a wealth of knowledge about students’ academic, developmental and social needs across the primary years. As a founding teacher and grade level chair at KIPP she also developed a passionate understanding of what it takes to build learning environments where all children can truly flourish. To share this knowledge and passion she returned to Teach for America to work with new teachers and was successful at guiding a cohort of 11 new teachers through an intensive pre-training program. Stacey transitioned to Lagos, Nigeria as the founding Academics Director for Bridge International Academies. At Bridge she has been able to focus on strengthening the teacher-training model, piloting curriculum innovations and engaging parents.  She is now the Learning Innovation Lead for Bridge International Academies.
