About the Project
CamBioScience provides a cloud platform that delivers individualised online courses in life science technologies for professionals in academia and industry. The company offers the use of its cloud learning platform, either on its own, or for use in combination with hands-on courses which take place in laboratories, research centers and universities around the world. During each course, students benefit from the teachings of an international team of experts in a variety of medical and life science subject areas.
Science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) are major drivers of modern economies. While an ever-increasing share of jobs require a background in STEM, conventional qualifications are not producing enough graduates with the STEM skills to meet the demands of the new technical economy. In addition, medical and bioscience students currently face lengthy studies and, as a consequence, may finish their formal training without developing capabilities in many of the most recent advances in their field. The increased rate of technological development in the sciences, coupled with the sheer quantity of information, require new tools and technologies for consolidating, personalising, and assessing information and skill transfer to scientific professionals.
CamBioScience’s cloud learning platform combines cutting-edge and internationally sourced content with custom-built artificial intelligence technology to meet the demands of the rapidly advancing fields of science and technology. The platform is built to overcome the content, cost, and scale challenges of providing skill-based learning, training and development opportunities to a globally distributed student base or workforce. The finalised version of the platform will host CamBioScience’s entire catalogue of adaptive e-learning courses and will provide novel tracking and reporting capabilities allowing the completion rate and performance of individual users to be followed.
Main future developments for the company include strengthening its online course portfolio, scaling its operations globally, and establishing international connections with new higher education customers for its cloud-based learning and assessment platform.
